‘Scooby-Doo, Scooby-doo, and Scooby: The Animated Series’ will be the final season for ‘Sesame Street’
Written by: Alastair Scott-Gerald Read moreSesame Workshop has said it will be cancelling the upcoming “Scoobies” animated series.
“We’ve got to get on with our lives and get this thing off the ground,” said Sesame Workshop co-founder and CEO Michael Dees in a statement.
“As we have previously stated, the show will be ending its run after the next season and we will have to turn to a new direction,” he said.
“In the meantime, we are working with the producers to bring the new ‘Soo-dahs’ into the fold.”
Sesame and Dees had been developing a new animated series about the Scooby Gang, and it was reported that the final episode would air on May 4.
Sesame said it would not comment on the cancellation of “SooBoo”, but it had already confirmed it would be ending the show.
“The Scooby Family has been a cornerstone of the Sesame Street brand for nearly 70 years,” the statement said.
Soo Boo, the character who has been an integral part of the show’s history, has been featured in episodes of “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy”.
Sesame has said “Sesame Day” will continue to be “an important part of our mission of supporting children with a passion for learning and making an impact on the world”.
“Sesame’s mission is to provide children with opportunities for meaningful education, play, and enrichment in a safe, supportive, and supportive environment,” it said.
